When designing the new AMEA regional offices for Trend Micro, a global cybersecurity company, the team at M Moser Associates aimed to create a human-centric workspace focusing on the wellbeing of the staff and guests. The interior designers integrated different spaces incorporating a feeling of harmony, comfort and stimulation, all through an international lens.

Trend Micro asked for the design to demonstrate their world coverage by theming rooms and spaces that would honour different cultures and places where they do business. The main challenge for M Moser Associates was to maintain a cohesive design flow throughout that would encourage collaboration and meaningful connections.

The results are not only beautifully unified but offer up a strong message of demographic diversity and cultural inclusion. “The most impactful part of the design is the different emotions or experiences created by each room,” says Noorul Jalilah, a Senior Executive at M Moser Associates. Named after cities, countries, and continents ranging from New York to New Zealand, the conference rooms create a memorable experience for all who enter.

Not only are the rooms named after specific cultures, but the team took careful consideration in sourcing décor to offer greater authenticity. “For example, the decorative baskets in the Africa room were all procured from members of the Fair Trade Federation,” says Jalilah. “This organization shares our strong belief that indigenous people around the world should be compensated fairly for their amazing work.”

The thoughtful design also shows through in the flooring. “It was very important for us to make sure that the flooring worked well with the ambiance we were after in every room,” says Jalilah. “The flooring played a key role in expressing the mood we wanted to capture.”
